Viejo Tannat 2006 of H. Stagnari was awarded the Golden Bacchus
Montevideo, March 22, 2010. The winery Vinos Finos H. Stagnari received the Grand Award for his Golden Bacchus Viejo Tannat 2006 in Madrid along with two English wines. This is the first time a Uruguayan wine receive this distinction.
In the ninth edition of International Wine Competition organized by the English Tasters Union, brought together the best wines in the world, bringing together wineries from different continents. The award was Vinos Finos H. Stagnari by tannat, was the result of a blind tasting of a specialized jury and was evaluated by a total of 100 points, to stage visual, olfactory and gustatory.
This is one of the most prestigious wine awards and important on the international scene, and an ideal platform to give Uruguayan wines known. In the ninth edition, 72 expert tasters evaluated 1,624 wines from wineries in 21 countries in eight categories: sparkling, sparkling liquor, overripe grapes, raisin grapes and white, red and pink quiet. Searching the net about Rodulfo immigrants, I found this great project of Jean-Francois de Buren: The Grand Tour (http://vodhdb.blogspot.com/).
The project is on the trip that made Henri colossal Buren, naturalist Swiss noble ancestor of Jean-François, in the nineteenth century, a journey that took him through North and South America. Henri de Buren was happened in 1853 in Lima, met Damian Ijurra Schutz, and Manuel, and with them go with the first German expedition to Caballococha, where Germans settled and they continued their journey to the Atlantic, and then back Europe. comments in his blog that has the travel diary of his ancestor, invaluable document in which he narrates his adventures by the end of the world, including travel to Caballococha. I recommend it and enjoy reading.
